mivec cams are not too easy to do. use electrnoics for now to extend the timing. maybe ask for cam gears before cams =) we got a long ways to go

Hmmm...I wonder what are more complex in design...the I-vtec cams in the RSX/SIR or the MIVEC ones.
I know when TODA did the rsx race package they gained ALOT w/ cams, valve springs and a ecu map.

Timing is critical, but to gain much we would need to rev higher. And at 100 mm stroke, I think we need to upgrade rods before we do much of that.

Most of the RSX gains were at much higher revs.

The Hytech RSX pulled 320 hp at 10,000+ rpms.

very intresting. Ive made a post months ago about revving the the RPM to gain extra HP/TRQ. Will cams do the trick? I honestly hate that the evo exist infront of the RA, because all the companies make products for it. They look @ the RA as subpar... worthless.

Don't even mention "owner base". There was no "owner" base for the tC when it was first annouced and look at all the asses (companies) that jumped on that thing. Most tC owners are teen/older women drivers, why would they care about a greedy turbo kit? Sorry for the , ill make a new post .

If there were some cams with a little more duration before and after MIVEC, we could easily make 190 hp at 7000 rpms before any other mods. Intakes, exhaust, and such would only sweeten the deal. The new MIVEC point would probably be arround 4250 rpms.

Rods would definitely be something worth looking into at the same point. Lighter titanium rods would not only increase power, but would be stronger as well. However, at $400 a rod, they can get rather expensive.

We would only need 142 ft/lbs of torque at 7000 rpms. Very attainable.

yeah, but reving higher will not make any more power unless you've modded the car to make power in that particular part of the rev range. Cams are a big part.

if you look at the toda cams, they are 'vtec killers" meaning that they run in high cam mode all the time..
