question about a resonator for exhaust

hey im about to have a custom 2.5" catback done and im pretty sure im gonna need a resonator with the rrm downpipe. I already have the downpipe and im thinking without the resonator thats already in the mid pipe, itll be too loud. I found a muffler on ebay thats 2.5" inch in and outlet and i was wondering if you think it would work having it welded in the new midpipe?

Yeah, should fit just fine. You may end up needing a second resonator, depending on how much you care about your exhaust note. On the stock setup, the stock resonator + muffler by themselves isn't enough to get rid of the buzzing.

I have a really good muffler shop I have been using for 8 years now. They told me there really is not room to fit 2 resonators, allso that no matter the muffler its allways going to make a slight buzz sound thats just the way 4 banger sound with open exsaust V10s make the same buzz with headers. What I did to help out sound was added a high flow cat and kept the stock resonator. It made it a lil bit deeper and cut the sound lvl in 1/2. Still buzzs past 5Krpms.

After I got a muffler put on my car I cut the resonator off and that was probably the worst performance thing I've ever done. Not only was it insanely loud but it killed all my torque as well. The cat just didnt give enough back pressure.
