No, nobody is making any cams or cam gears for us. Yes they would be real good power adders. They are the best thing behind turbo for engine mods. But I wouldnt count on anybody making them anytime soon, considering after the 2nd generation eclipse came out, it took the first company 3 years to make them, and the eclipse was a VERY popular car. Our cars arent. Its not looking good for us.

I'm just curious, what do you think the HP gains would be with a new cam gear and shafts?

Depends on what degree of camshafts you go with. The lower stage cams tend to not deliver as much power, but the idle isnt so bad. Now say for instance you went with a racing cam, (ie stage 4 or 5) your idle is gonna be so rough youll never wanna drive your car and bye bye gas mileage. But IF we were ever to get cams, i doubt we would have a choice between stages (unlike in my last 97 eclipse 420A where I had 4 stages to choose from). But having cam gears on stock cams is absolutely pointless.

Ok, but being new to modding, what I'm wondering is are we talking 5, 10, 20 HP range? Lets say, we were to get a set of performance cam gear and shafts which are still good for a daily driver, am I going to see a diff? If I were to take my car to a dyno after, how much more power you think this mod would result in?

Thanks for your input!
