RE: Quick question about stock downpipe

What is the more restrictive area of the stock piece? The collectors part (the 2-1 part) or the single piping after the collectors that is crushed before the cat?

I'm looking into getting a larger pipe cut and welded into place w/ a highflow cat (emission's reasons) instead of a RRM downpipe.

The entire section from the collector back. The collector isn't a smooth transition, then it just goes right into that crushed pipe.

But, which section would you think is the MORE restrictive area. I'm just trying to figure out if it would be worth the cost of getting the pre cat pipe redone. If not then I may just leave it and just put the new HF cat in.

I would think that the crushed part before the cat was the worst restriction, or maybe the cat itself. If you replace both, let us know what happens.

^^I think it's the crushed portion before the cat, as well!!!
That's the biggest difference between the dp & stock piece (besides the cat, which I'm sure is restrictive as hell). I just think that the crushed portion is the most restrictive in that piece!

the crushed part is the most restrictive, for sure, but the 90degree bend is really bad as well. if you are gonna fix one, might as well fix them both.

me and dan (pinyonoskillz sp?) are going to VRS to try to get some made soon. if u want one, lemme know and when we go, they can fab a 3rd one for u. prob 2.5" tho, to match /w the catback.

Details. Has one been made or tested yet? How much $$ are we looking at?

Hey blk-majik I might be interested in a 2.5" DP. Let me know more about this. The most restrictive part is the catalytic converter.

i was gonna go down this weekend to have it looked at, but it was my bday and i dyno'd instead. not much time after that =) i'll try to stop by next weekend.

expect this to be about the same price as the RRM one, with a highflow cat. cheaper without the cat. stainless steel only, no ceramic coating.

however, i am not sure if they want to make it a product since the ralliart catbacks are not selling for ****. they dont seem to think there is any market. if a few are interested, i could have it made up on my car and ship it out to u. that worst case, but we'll see
