Injen CAI installed, but i have a question

Since I bought my intake used and had no instructions I wanted to double check with yall about two things.

1) How many of the Injen screws with the bushings were used in this kit. I had to buy my from injen and bought 2 thinking i would need both, but I ended up reusing one of the factory screws on the filter end.

2) are you supposed to leave the plastic covers off to allow more air flow or put them back on. I took off the one that allows the tube to go into the engine bay and the plate directly below the intake.

I got the first on in the engine, but the second one would not mount right. I could get the rubber mount in the sheet metal but the intake would not fit because it pulled it too far out. Will it hurt anythig to keep like it is? It is bolted in the bottom, but not with a rubber mount.

I cut the splash guards and put them back on.

The lower vibra-mount will fit. You need to loosen up all the clamps on the intake and work with it a bit to get everything to line up right. Once you have it secured to both vibra-mounts, then you can clamp down the intake.

Injen has the installation instructions on there website

http://www.injen.com/galleries/produ...directions.pdf

I have heard a few people say that they left off the splash guard.
IMO the more debris you keep out of the engine bay, the better.
Hey Otter, do they make an engine bag(like the filter bags) to keep my engine clean?
I would cut the splash guard and reinstall it.
