most of the drivers for the mags tend to pull 2.0 on the 60'... 2.2 is a common pull for a descent driver and is what i usually pull on stock tires. How they get those 2.0's is beyond my skill.

Third gear is kind of dead for me too. I've raced a buddies RSX Type-S and immediately jumped two car lengths on him but at the middle of third gear my lead was cut down to half a car at that. We stayed locked for a few seconds before slowing down. Now i attributed that to his high reving "V-Tec" but recenctly raced a svt focus and noticed the same problem. Not as drastic but again it was the third gear curse. Now just so you guys can bash my skills, I ran a best and only time of 16.0 even at 85mph but that was on a 108 degree night on a crappy strip and stock tires. I live in Phoenix by the way.

Well i took him off the line about 2 car lengths and in his 3rd gear he started to catch up just before the quarter... we got to talking and I'm now curious... is there an issue with top end power with the RA? (Keep in mind his car only weighs like 2700 LBS)... but after thinking about it ive come to notice that around my 3rd gear it is pretty weak...

I think a lot has to be atributted to our lack of high reving engine. 6500 is cool but somehow it ends right before the party is about to begin. The spirit is willing but the car is...not. Our engine is fantastic, I love that my SOHC beast can smash through Dohc 2.5liters or in some cases GT'd V8's but i think we stop making the agressive top end horsepower at the end of third thta is critcally needed when racing an equally matched opponent. So it has nothing to do with the CEL causing disturbance but gearing & engineering. On the other hand pretty cool defeat on that sentra, some of those cars can be devastating, i'm always glad to hear of ralliart glory stories.

its good to hear someone else has noticed a problem around 3rd gear... i wasnt exactly blaming the CEL, just throwing out what i knew about the car... i just had the feeling something was wrong with 3rd was such a weak gear... in most cars that the gear where most of the torque and hp lies (thats why most dynos are done in 3rd on a 5spd) they try to take measurements from 30-60mph... but again i was thinking it could possibly be something wrong with the car... again i dont think alot of people realise that California is basically a DESERT and quarter times wont be the same as they are on the east coast. I guess the next step is to look for something to give me more top end out of that car... then ill move back over to my turbo beast and do some more work on it.

i think its just the car...my 3rd isn't as strong either...i had a better launch on an 89 Mustang GT and we were literally dead even till about 3 seconds into third...i think the car just starts to loose power after that...i was trying to think of ways to increase the top end acceleration too.

Are you serious? Ive beating a type-s and svt focus (with video proof). I know our cars are not top-end, high revving cars... but my 3rd pulls, pulls well matter of fact. Evenly match cars ive faced (specV, tC etc.) I end up pulling harder top of 2nd thru all of 3rd gear.

Don't feel too bad about 16.0. I went to the track for the first time ever tonight (no more S.R. for me) and I ran a 15.8. I'm completly stock and I'm due for my 30k mile maintenance. My best 60 was a 2.38. I know I need new tires and spark plugs and that will help but what RPM do all of you launch at?

Any that physically fit, and are within this impedance range:

Measure resistance between terminals.
Standard value: 10.5 - 13.5 ohms [at 20°C (68°F)]
