I have driven Dans car an i can say that it does make the car feel a lot better in shifting.

mmhhhmmm, and that was before the brass and alum bushings IIRC

if you get your new clutch soon enough we could make it a two project weekend (seeing as how we haven't met up to get this tie bar in yet )

The restrictor actually increases wear on the clutch, which is why it's such a good idea to remove it, if you can drive a MT properly. It's there to save the trans from harsh engagements.
