THE fuel light is actually orange... our cars tank is 13.2... the light come on after 10.5 gallons have been use... so u still have about 2 1/2 gallons... so if u getting 230miles by 10.5 your doing bout 21.5mpg which is good... our average is 23mpg...I ran my car till I ran out of gas once and had over 320miles... but it was mostly highway which was bout 25mpg...

I understand the whole gas light but i just think that it was weird that when I was doing my regular driving through the city the light came on at 230 and when I drove for 1000 miles all highway the gas light still came on at 230 which is kinda odd cause you're suppose to get better gas mileage on the highway.

To clarify for those who don't know...MIVEC kicks in at 3500 rpm...no matter what gear your in. So, if your driving in town shifting below 3500rpm than your mileage should be alright...on the other hand, if your cruising on the highway above 3500, your mileage could be suffering.
It all depends on your personal driving habits.

In any drriving I usually have it at around 250-270 b4 the light comes on. If its all city the light usually comes on at around 220. If I am on the highway and crusuing I usually won't stop for gas until around 320. There is still about a gallon and a half left at this point.
I get better MPG on the highway around 74mph which equates to around 3400rpm which is just under MIVEC.

You have more miles than that unless you are really running your car hard.
