I got the Injen but I don't think there is too much of a difference. You have to take out you entire stock air cleaner. From the TB all the way to the filter box. Then there is the little plastic piece that runs the top of the radiator that can come off. Then you have to take out your battery and battery tray so that you can stuff the pipe underneath it. Mine mounted to an upper mount were the stock airbox was screwed in. That was on the top of the tranny. Then the only other mount is down on the frame rail where the filter sits. There is a pre-drilled and threaded hole already there that you are supposed to use. Is that what you are asking for?

5spd = yes
auto = no

A few months back, I broke my RRM intake in an accident, so I replaced it with the AEM one. The fit and finish is beautiful! Lots of little details, like holders for all the stock cables/hoses. The pipe can flex in 3 places, inlcuding the rubber flex/mount at the bottom, making it virtually impossible to break.

It said it was CARB certified, but when I got it, there was no sticker anywhere on it to indicate that? I'll call them one of these days to see what's up with that!

Hey ReTro - Did you notice any difference from the RRM CAI to the AEM? I've read that the AEM is supposed to keep a little more of the low end torque. You're in a good position to compare - same car and all other mods will be the same.

SMS-speak makes my head hurt.
Really, how hard is it to type this all out properly when you're sitting in front of a full-size keyboard?

I'll try and get picz up in the next couple of days. I went with red, which is more of a candy apple. The filter is oil-less, so I assume it will eventually have to be replaced? It sits real nice in the space behind the fog lamp. The filter is actually aimed 'up' and there's a plug where the pipe turns so you can let out moisture if you suck anything up. Although, it'd have to be pretty deep.

About performance diff. between it and RRM... honestly, I can't tell. It sounds different. You can hear more of the air "whoosh" sound. I'm sure the hp/tq numbers are so close, that it would have to be dynoed to verify anything.

The fit and finish is definitely better, and it's all aluminum, and barely weighs anything.

so you think the aem one is better than RRM??? interesting... i have the injen one... if i wasnt gettin the turbo kit i a couple weeks, i'd sell my injen and buy the aem, just to compare the two... o well tho too late for me, maybe somebody else will...

is the aem one a regular CAI or is it the V2 series?? if its the V2 series than its probly the best, but not sure... hope somebody will compare this im a little interested in it
