Raliart Gas Mileage

I have a new Raliart Sportback. In town mileage is a dismal 18, road 23-24. I can drive a V-6 class car for this mileage. Any owners have success in increasing the MIVEC mileage? This car has 3K miles. I may sell if I can't get the mileage up.

I average ~27mpg combined, and get ~30mpg on the fwy. Purely around town, I probably get ~25mpg.

How hard are you mashing the gas pedal? (ie, at what RPM is the auto tranny shifting?)

i live on guam, which isn't a very big island. there are no interstates and there are stop lights EVERYWHERE! the fastest speed limit on guam is 45 with 35mph being the most common. i get about 250-270 miles per tank, i usually fill up with about 10.5 gallons. so i don't ever let the tank get too low. as soon at my light comes on i go fill. i'm hoping for better gas mileage when i leave here and return to the states.

I also average around 27mpg. If I drive fairly agressively, it will go down to about 25mpg. My best average for a whole tank was 28. This is mixed 40%city/60%hwy. My only mod is the pulley which may possibly increase mpg by like .5 to 1 mpg. Hopefully you observed the break-in period. Keep in mind it will continue to get better although you should be doing better than that at 3000 miles. Also remember not to just divide by your tank size. Use the number of gallons on your next fill-up. If you don't see a change, I would bring it in to the dealer for evaluation. Good luck.

I usually get 25-28 mpg. That is mixed highway and city with some "spirited" driving mixed in. Best is 29.5......but I drove like a blue hair and kept it out of MIVEC.

I drove for a three hour trip recently and got 32 mpg staying out of mivec the whole way except like twice. got gas as soon as i could and had a half tank left on two hundred miles or so. thats my best. The worst(non-track) was when I first put the pulley on. i got 15 mpg that time.

I don't know how to caculate my mpg. but from Orlando to Miami, it's 250 mile on the 13.2 gal tank. And I usually have atleast a quarter if not alittle more gas left in the tank. and that's after 3 hours of driving 75+

How to calculate approximate MPG:

Fill up your tank. Reset the trip meter. Drive until you need to fill up again.
Fill er up! Note how many gallons it took to fill (example: 10.2). Get in the car and note the mileage on the trip meter (example: 254.5). Now take your mileage and divide that by how much it took to fill the tank:
254.5 / 10.2 = 24.95 MPG

If you're sure it's a quarter tank left, you should be upwards of 25mpg. To find out for sure, follow eclipse2lancer's instructions.
