hp count

what would the theoretical horsepower be if the below upgrades were done? if stock wheel horsepower is 135.

1)RRM piggy back
2)RPW header and high flow Cat
3)underdrive pulley
4)Some brand of CAI
5) RRM axel back muffler or other Co. (and extention?)

is there any other basic mods?

Well the RPW headrer wont be out till the end of Feb, so no telling what hp that will create. But for the rest RRM has a dyno sheet on their site for the piggy back, cai and exhaust. im guessing with the pulley u can add another 7 or 8 to that..

1. 8-13%
2. 12-15%
3. 1-2%
4. 1-2%
5. 1-3%

Basic mods would be but not limited to: Bored Intake Manifold, Bored Throttle Body, Full catback instead of Axle-Back.

6) Turbonator/Electric Supercharger

If you're talking about easy-install bolt ons, then no; but technically the intake manifold is a bolt on so you may want to add that to your list. Furthermore, I think this has been covered about a million times, but the axel-back exaust isn't going to give you any HP gains, only improved appearance (and possibly sound, depending on what the RPW kit does for the sound).

turbonator?
like the pop-up product you see on webpages that sells for 79.99? I think the axel back would do more for hp then the turbonator would even if it was all in your head.

You're right. The Turbonator doesn't do ****. But then again, you seem to have missed the fact that the last two suggestions were sarcastic. Neither does an electric supercharger.

If I could, I'd put it in seisure-inducing flashing letters if it would make it more obvious. What the hell happened to this board? Why are people so uptight and numb to the obvious? This is the 2nd time tonight I've had to clarify a sarcastic comment.

I believe the mods you mentioned would generate the following figures, followed with explanations, assuming you've got a stick:

RRM Piggyback: 12-15 WHP on default fuel mapping - Since the piggyback comes with software, you may be able to adjust the mapping for higher octane fuel and get more impressive results, at the cost of spending a lot more on gas.

RPW Header and Cat: Unknown - The product isn't released yet so we don't know how effective it will be. But at $480 for the header and connector pipe ($200 more then the documented 10HP gotten from RRM's downpipe, a 71% difference in price), a dollar-for-HP ratio would have the header adding 17.1HP. I would expect at least 15HP, otherwise it may not be worth the cash.

Underdrive Pulley: 0 CHP, 5-8 WHP - The underdrive pulley adds no HP to your engine. It frees up lost HP from the heavier pulley it replaces. While it won't add crank HP, it should free up an additional 5-8 wheel HP.

CAI: 7-12 WHP - This varies wildly depending on brand. RRM claims their CAI out-dynos AEM and Ingen. I seem to recall remembering someone doing dynos on the Ingen and getting around 8HP off it, then the AEM and getting 6 or 7. Fujita has a CAI that they've tested on a 4 cyl MIVEC Eclipse that dynoed adding an additional 11HP. You'll have to do some research and find out which one you think is best.

RRM Axleback - 0-2 WHP - The axelback is too far down the exaust line to make a noticable difference by itself. It may improve WHP, but not to a point where you would notice it in either a 0-60 time or a quarter-mile time. You'll hear a delightful sound however. RPW installed a catback on chowetime's new lancer and only managed to sqeeze out an extra 5HP. That should tell you how efficient the current exaust system is.
