Without a turbo, to run 14.4, you'd need the entire RRM N/A catalog, shave the head or high-compression pistons. A bit of NOS would help, too. If no NOS, then meth injection.

Your going to need that turbo kit...Well, not necessarily but it'll give you the best results for the money...

The most cost-effective option would be to take a knife to your bro's tyres.

You're giving away more than 50% of your engine capacity so you're going to need something drastic - like a turbo. Now, if you're keeping N/A I think your options are severely limited, I say go turbo.

Or you can get one of these:

That would be a complete engine from Monster sport. Without Mivec it makes 350hp and with Mivec it makes 365. Yours for 1,000,000YEN roughly or about 8,600USD....

It's probably overkill to beat a 350Z, but think of it against insurance against future mods he will put on his car.

It will most likely fit. Perhaps you'll need to make a home for the i/c but it's got its own intake box and everything.

Was meant to be a little joke, but there's no reason I can think of that it won't fit...

there is no reason why that would not fit - it is a mitsu engine and is facing the correct way and see that it has come from the evo which is the same chassi as ours all that needs to be done is the engine mounts and a full stand alone ecu in the line of Haltech or Motec you will also have to change over fuel lines etc as ours are a returnless and that engine is a return fuel setup, plus you will need to get a floor pan for an evo 7,8, or 9 to accomidate the driveline unless you are wanting to just to keep it fwd but traction would be killer.

but if you want to beat your brother then I really do suggest a turbo kit this will be the easiest way - but if you are wanting N/A then you need a whole heap of gear and some killer tuning a full stand alone ecu would help solve all problems as you can then get a much more aggressive cam and get rid of the factory set rev limiter not to mention all the other stuff Headers, exhaust, slightly bigger injectors, port matched intake, bigger T/B.... then change over the gear box so that it has a better ratio and LSD for traction if this does not do it then a stealth 50hp of nitro have it hidden so that noone sees it (only need a small bottle)

then a cheap way to win is not going to be a pretty way but it will be cheap and I would only do it if you are really desperate. remove the belt that controls power steering air cond ect and then if you are really keen remove the air filter altogether but only do this when you are at the track this will give you a very fast revving car and possibly an extra 20hp plus strip out everything from the car spare wheel and absolute minimum fuel get some sticky tires or lower yours down to 18psi (front only)
