alternator R.I.P.
I would like to know who makes the alternators, I know on my last two cars, both sentras (1.6 liters of non fun) they were made by nippondenso, both cars had over 150k with the original alt. Where is mitsu getting these from?

its a little fishy if you ask me ! it seems that everyone who is having these same simptoms all have the underdrive pully, i have had all kinds of crap going on under the hood but nothing like this . now im debating on the pully again
oh and i would get it re-built , its cheaper and it will be better than stock

Well, I have an appointment on Monday at the dealer to get it looked at. I will be reinstalling the factory pulley this weekend to avoid any arguments on the UDP causing it. We shall see what they say. I will update then.

For every two people who have issues there is another 60 people running the pulley with no issues. I run my car pretty hard, plus I've got quite a few clicks on it with the pulley. Really if it's squeaks I would probably redo the install with same belt then test and if it was still squeaking I would get a new belt.
i took it all apart, made sure everything was cool twice. i do have an extra belt for the pully set up. if i have time this weekend i'll switch them and see what happens. one belt came from rrm, one i had to buy from auto-zone(same exact belt).
I have 42000 + miles in my odo and 38500 of them had been with the udp, no problems whats oever, thats traveling everyday, racing it every single day, abusing it like a stolen car. The only gripe have is that the pressuere plate cant handle the power after 180 whp and powershifting. But till now my problems were a blown shock and a wire splice that came off at the interioir fusebox
wtf is 5 horsepower you are not going to care about when the ride doesnt work so if you want to stand around waiting for the towtruck one day in the future over nothing but like 3 horsepower then the pully is a good idea, trust me this is a very BAD mod for your engine then you must add the cost of watever breakes to the cost of the pully then see if its worth the little improvment.......its not.

besides most of the people at car-part wont ship to me
