Possible cam

Okay looking at the evo 9's cam gears, the mivec cam looks EXACTLY like ours. so is it possible their the same? is it possible that aftermarket cams for the evo 9 that the mivec one will fit our cars?

Are you talking about the cam or the camgear because you said you were looking at the camgear and then asked about the cams... did you pull the head of the Evo or what?

Nonetheless, I dont think it will work. The 2.4L MIVEC , doesnt our MIVEC control both lift and valve timing, where the Evo only controls lift?

The MIVEC engine in the EVO is a DOHC. That means the cam wont work for sure. You could probably get the cam gear to work but I personally wouldn't try doing it.

im talking about the cam gear itself, yes the evo is DOHC so it has two.
look at this picutre of the evo 9 engine.
notice the cam gear on the right. it looks exactly like our cam gear. so an aftermarket cam gear set for an evo obviously comes with 2. so would only using the one that would go on the right fit our engine??????with a different belt.

I don't know to much about the evo but i think KillahB is right. If he is i wouldnt try it even if it looks like it would physically fit.

My understanding is that the cam gear for a 3G SOHC Eclipse will fit, so why bother with an Evo gear?
