yep, surface area is an inverse relationship, the only difference between this and a full plate is mashed potatos, er sorry I'm hungry, heat dissapation will be better on the full surface. this would only be a problem if you can't drive or if RRM(act's clutch according to RRM's website) did not use the proper materials. clamping force, not surface area, determines torque capacity along with three other variables. if you follow the link in my previous post you will be somewhat overwhelmed. sorry its a honda/acura site though

and I would agree, if you sold two already this was way overdue. wait until you fab us some cams

We sold 2 today so this must have been way over due

lol, sorry about that. It was either that or plagiarize the information as my own. I'm all about giving credit where it's due, especially when it comes from a source who claims to have gotten an email from the president of a clutch company. It just seems like people might listen easier. Also, if that guy ever googles his name and sees that post if it really wasn't him, or they didn't have permission to reproduce an article by him or something, then I won't be in trouble

Rock, does the 4 puck design comes with springs or solid plate? Ill be damned if I had to chatter my way out from launching.

Also, can I use that Hard *** clutch with the light flywheel you guys sell? My thought is to replace BOTH the clutch and flywheel at the same time, so any info will be appreciated

Since I guess your Turbo RA must be sporting this clutch already I guess that the tranny can take the punishement...Mitsu trannys are not known to withstand that much tq

solid meaning no marcel layer? very good hookup and lot's of chatter then. four puck design makes it lightweight. higher pressure plate holds more torque. Sounds like you've aptly skipped stage 2 to me. What plans, if any, do you have for another clutch?

We skipped Stage 2 cause our demands have been for bigger badder clutch. We will eventually have stage 2 with a milder full disk. I hope it is soon.

STAGE 1------Got it
STAGE 2------SOON
SATGE 3-------GOt it

me too, cause when mine goes out I will go to stage two, three is too hardcore at this point. You guys do some excellent work by the way, and it looks like this piece is no exception. ACT is a good choice too, my favorite.

ACT no doubt. I got a street pressure plate and a 4 puck with springs in the Mirage. Excellent reliability, I had it for more than 2 years of constant abuse

What kind of lifespan can you expect out of a clutch like this when compared to a full disk?

It depends mainly on how you drive it. If you are slipping the clutch constantly you are going to wear it out pretty quick. All that kind of stuff aside it should bite a little harder, and since there is less surface area to bite you would tend to see more wear because of this. However, higher quality materials and less slippage due to the heavy contact pressure will probably make this clutch last as long, if not longer, when doing NORMAL everyday driving.
