Ok first of all some mods work better with others. If you want to really gain something from the Cai, try to free some exhaust too.

^+1. In the case of my car i loved the way he performed after the CAI (rrm in my case) and after that i went with the dp. You should really consider opening the exhaust.

i just installed my pulley on my sportback ralliart 2 days ago and the difference is there!! i did some "test drives" last week after my pulley was ordered for 4 days at the same time at night and let me tell you the gain is very good on an automatic ralliart with a SRI ,i also run royal purple 5w-30 ...i use my gps for mph back up and from point A to B where i could get the car to 60 im getting it to 64 on avg. and an uphill close by the car would get to "certain speed"now it just keep pulling and pulling ...seems like there is a really big spike in power after 4000 rpm

same for me. when you sit parked with your lights on and rev they brighten a little again. someone told me its b/c the alternator pulley wont spin as fast anymore with the lightweighted pulley installed. makes sense i guess.

which brings me to the obvious, why doesnt anyone ever lightweight all the pulleys on the belt instead of one?

People do. Lightweight pulley sets are more common on muscle cars. With us, it's just that nobody makes a set. Also, you get the biggest gain by lightening and underdriving the crank pulley. Lightweight accessory pullies would make less of a difference.

it would fix my dimmed headlights though right? bc its one of the reasons i never got the halo projectors, they suposedly make the lights even dimmer.

The only thing that'll fix the headlight dimming is to put the stock pulley on, or have a lightweight pulley made that isn't underdriven. The lights only dim at idle, anyways, so if you got halos they'd still be fine except when you're fully stopped. Even then, a quick blip of the throttle fixes it.

An optima battery may help the dimming effect.

Hi all,

I must say, THANKS JOE !!!!!! I love my pulley, have had it for a few months now and must say its great. I can definatly tell the differents in torque. How do i know this? I can feel the car pull more and i havent lost anything in 3rd gear. The only "mod" i have is a drop in K&N air filter. Sounds to me like you got a problem with your CAI and not letting your car breath buy opening up the exhuast a little. Once my body kit is on and im done with that im getting a cat back done for my car from a local shop. I hope this will help a little more. Im planing on going turbo so no need for a CAI or any down tubes ect at this time. Once again THANKS JOE !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I must say the catback I had done on the Ralliart really helps the car rev better. It took away that loss of power in third gear and just helps it run smoother and stronger. Check out my thread for the custom catback I had done. It may give your shop some good ideas..
