Just put a heat sheild on my short ram intake.

Thought I'd take a pic to show you guys, next step is clean all the pollen off my hose lol.

Not sure if it helped that much yet, the filter is different than my last one so it sounds a little better. I'll get more pics of the header after work.

That looks really clean in there, but with it not actually seperating the whole filter from the engine compartment I'm not sure that its doing much for you in the way of keeping cooler air from entering the air filter.

How easy or hard was the install? Would it be easy to switch back to stock if necessary (for service at the dealer)?

if its like the ebay one i had on mine, you just take the filter off and slide the tabs right under the edge of the filter and put it back on. i never really felt much if any difference though so i ditched it.

It's very easy to install and the filter that came with it is better than the injen one. I doubt its only for looks though it must do something even if it's the most minut difference it does something.

look under your car sometime... hell, crawl under it while its running if you can... The heat sheilds above the exhaust will be rather warm, while the floorboard just an inch away will be noticably cooler... Same principle... A heatshield does not have to wrap completely around something to block radiant heat from it...
