06 Ralliart break-in

Hi everyone,

I just picked up an '06 Ralliart 5-speed and love it. I'd like some opinions on break-in guidelines. I've got about 350kms on the car and was thinking of changing the oil this weekend, but I'm not sure if it's too early, or if mitsu uses break-in oil. I've done some searching on this site and came up with this: http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm. It's an interesting read with some suggestions I'll follow. I'm taking it easy on the car for the time being, but trying not to coddle it.

What advice do you have on engine break-in, oil changes, etc.?

Thanks.

already break in from factory... mine has 4000 km on it, I asked for oil change after 1000 and they told me that was not necessary... I'll wait another 1000 for now !

FWIW, I broke my engine in hard. I drove the hell out of it from the get-go.

I changed the oil and filter the first time at 500 miles, filled it with conventional oil. Drove normal (not as hard, but still not easy) for another 1000 miles, then changed the oil and filter again with conventional oil. Finally switched to full synthetic at 3000 miles, and been running full synthetic ever since.

Now my engine has 70,000 miles on it, and only uses about 1/2 a quart of oil in 5000 miles.

I drove mine like I stold it.... It seem to have mutant power after being broken in that way. I now have a 2006 eclipse and I broke it in slowly and it seems to be a terd.. I would recomend driving hard teh ffrist 3000 miles
