Do anybody know the inside diameter on the sensor area for the rrm and the injen cai ?

same as stock diameter buddy

suppose to be 2.5, but i have seen AEM sais his intake is 2.75, i doubt this because mine is 2.75 and it stalls a little at idle

have any of you actually tried an intake without the sensor? or is everything just speculation?

HEY remember you dont have a submarine, mitsubishi doesnt make submarines, or at least i havent seen one on a mitsu dealer, so you better remember that before going underwater...
Actually there are Mitsu built submarines.....lol

If you search another person put on a intake (think from a civic) on his car and he had alot of idling issues and things.

No one is saying you cant do it, just you should expect to modify it. We all know you could make one from scratch but i just assume spend the money on one that i know has been tested and was already designed for our car.

i think if you dont put the maf sensor on the intake, the car wont start, or will be very crazy, i havent tried but the car uses the maf to know how many air is going in...

As long as you have the sensors hooked up and sealed properly, there shouldn't be a problem. My friend put an injen intake on from some other model lancer because they hadn't made one for the RA yet. Works perfectly fine because he made sure it was sealed properly. He used PVC pipe and silicone or something like that. Been running strong for about 40,000 miles now.
