CAI question

I have a CAI that is not for my RA but I think will work. I can modify it to connect my sensors, but my question is what will happen if I don't? Will it just pop a light on, or will it run poorly? Thanks for your help.

It could run poorly. The readings on that sensor help determine when to open and close valves, etc.

if your MAF is not hooked up properly, with the improper amount of air space around it your car will either stall out at idle, or run like crap. Save yourself an engine and get the RRM CAI

if you do a good work putting the MAF and if it isn't too big (dont think more than 2.75" work) there should be no problem, maybe some idle stall , AT least mine works very good, good power good torque, = very good hehehe

if you dont want to or cant do too much modifications to the intake to fit, you sould go with a AEM,INJEN or RRM CAI

good luck! remember everything its possible!

buy the AEM cold ari intake so then you can buy the bypass valve to save your self the chance of flooding your engine and having to spend money that you dont have to and they come in 3 different colors haha

you dont need a BYPASS if you have just a little part of something called ...

...BRAIN

if you have that you dont need a bypass

HAHA

EEEEEEEEEXAAACTLYY!!!!!!!!!!!hehehehe

maybe he likes to drive his car under water, he should buy a submarine instead or a Ralliart

HEY remember you dont have a submarine, mitsubishi doesnt make submarines, or at least i havent seen one on a mitsu dealer, so you better remember that before going underwater...

Thanks for the input. my thought however for those that think that if it isn't made for the RA it won't work... All aftermarket parts were made at some point by someone. Just because it isn't "made for RA's" doesn't mean it won't work. The issue I have is the sensor. I just haven't had time to get to the shop and modify it so I wasn't sure if it would just throw a sensor or run like crap also. I will just wait until I fix it to put it is. And remember, when I am done with it, it will be made for a RA. The guys that designed our intakes aren't car gods. As a matter of fact, they didn't even do that much. Some intakes would be almost impossible to make work with out a fab shop, but in this car it is fairly simple. For example, I used to have an F-body firebird and that CAI was complicated. These CAI's in the RA are simple. Short pipe, small bend... sensors. Anyway, thank you for the input and I will just hold off until I do the job the right way.

dont understand that post!

are you asking if it will work, or your saying that your going to make it to sell it , or what?

offcourse something its not for your car can be modified to fit and work on your car, like the CAI i make for my ralliart, (show and shine forum = G-Spec CAI)

I am making it for my own use. I know I can make it work... but some people seem to think that some how magically my engine will take a **** because I didn't spend a ridiculas amount of money on an intake that someone else made. It's retarted. I agree with you(egk-69) and appreciate your input, but people posting garbage about an intake killing an engine competely to the point of needing to rebuild it or buy a new one, need to do some research or something about engines. Just because you can buy it somewhere else, doesn't mean that you have to or your car will blow up if you fabricate your own. I had a simple question about the sensor... now I know that it definately needs hooked up, I didn't need to know anything else about my engine stalling and needing to save myself from buyinga new one. I know what other intakes are out there, and if I decided to buy one, I would have asked which one people prefer, but until then I will put the one in I have and see how it does.

im with you, hehehe, here are some lame *** people who talks too much trash, and if you ask them what CAI its better, the answer will be RRM , then you ask if someone has test the 3 different CAI's and you dont get a answer, or you get the answer, yes RRM did ...

what tha heck is wrong with this, I mean if you havent tested the 3 of them on a DYNO dont talk trash, maybe the one I have custom made its better that the other 3 but because it is made by me it is trash for other lame *** users of this FORUM

sorry, just my 2 cents
