Exhaust system and high-flow CAT

Just got my exhaust system installed from the header back (all RRM) bought a CAT from them but skipped it and WOW is it an annoying sound.

Will the high flow cat help the sound? How much of the power i just gained will be lost?

Should i turn around and by a bigger resonator?

Would a different muffler solve it?

I already own the cat and if it may help the noise ill suffer some loss. I know i wont get a muscle car sound from this exhaust but this is a little too much HONDA for me.

A cat will bring the sound down a lot and get rid of most of the raspyness. I Just got my downpipe put in and couldn't stand how loud it was and the raspyness so i got a highflow cat welded in. Now it sounds a little louder than stock with just a little rasp. Overall sounds MUCH better.

i know yhe resonator would do more and restrict less air flow (so more HP) but i bought the highflow cat already and this catback exhaust has a perfectly good resonator...so then the big question

How much HP will i be losing with this highflow cat vs no cat??

Thanks all. I'm taking a day off in a week or so. Camgear, CAT and hopefully my hood and spoiler all will go on then.

Sport Compact Car did a dyno test on an 01 (i think) Civic. They compared stock cat to a high flow cat (magnaflow) and a test pipe/straight pipe (ebay). There wasn't much of a difference. High flow gained 5 hp over a stock cat and the test pipe only gained 1 hp over the high flow. So really if the sound is annoying you that much just put it in and if that 1 hp loss is noticeable then lose 5 lbs and your set to go!

header/dp and Cat-back. also did the motor mounts, swaybar and perches, and tiebar. cam gear is in the garage waiting to install, and intake manifold is backordered.

If you don't have some kind of force induction, I would definately recommend instaling the high flow cat. The 2 HP is gives on NA cars is not worth the noise.
