there is another thread going on now about this. if you are looking for more lowend stay 2.25 high end 2.5

also don't know what you're other mods are but if you dont have an intake id go with that first.

I've been told, 2.25" if N/A and 2.5" if turbo. You can go the 2.5" way, but you'll lose alot of low end and gain in the top end.

2.25" will give you low end- mid and a little top end..

2.25" for driveablity
2.5" for top end performance.

pulley ftw.

When I put mine on almost a year ago, I asked the same thing. The answer then was nobody knew. Even the instructions I believe said something like "good and tight". You could check with RRM or Joe - the guy that made the pulley, or a good mechanic would probably have a good estimation based on others he's put on. I must say, that's the only thing that worries me about the pulley - whether I've over or under-torqued it.

18 +- 3ft/lbs, so not that tight, but I would probably put a bit of lock-tite on those bolts.

I know the pulley is awesome. Not talking about this Joe...

I would recommend 2.25" for exhaust.

I think I need to de-torque mine a bit.

Definately stay with 2.25".....not 2.5.

Any 'decent' exhaust guy will tell you the same.

I have a buddy that runs 11.2's in a Turbo'd 2.3L 4cyl Mustang (his fun car....as his 'real' drag racer is a 347 SBF Stroker, Mustang II that runs 10's) and he is a 'real' engine builder and exhaust guy for a living.

If he runs 2.25" on his car, considering what he has done to it.....that is good enough for me.

Don't rob yourself of torque because the masses say that BIG PIPES are COOL !...lol. Stay 2.25".

wow, that really sucks, i have 2.25 on my d16z6 civic hatch, and it runs awesome, even when i had the beat up d15, it runs better with 2.25 than 2.0, and we are talking all motor, not forced induction

my civic h22 have 2.50 straight exhaust (with no curves), and even when i think a h22 flow more air than a 4g69, it is still a 2.4L, the h22 is 2.2L

i dont know, but i think i will try the 2.5, I dont care too much about daily driven

2.4L can see gains across the board even with a 3". Ask any 240sx guy.

Across the board, I imagine huge loss NA for 3".

Even in turbo form a 3" will not be needed until over 300whp.

I think exhaust sizing really does depend greatly on what other supporting mods you have or seriously plan on getting.... so if you are planning to change over the cam shaft adding a set of headers throttle body intake manifold etc followed up with some very good tuning then a good 21/2" press bent will be really good and you could be quiet safe for a 21/2" mandrel bent

just to make it clear about the stock exhaust....it outside diameter of the pipe is 2.09. which my local muffler shop and i measured on my RA when i was changing my flex pipe. anyways.....iono if it makes a difference, but it's 2.09 inches.
