LSD for an N/A?

DangerousDan gave me a new map and i guess im really feeling the power behind the last few mods i did for the first time. havent gotten to really drive it but i think im starting to feel torque steer off the line? seems like the car wants to take off to the side and its not real hard, but it needs to be held straight more then it used to. and i know the turbo guys get the lsd and its to fix this right?

Yes, it is supposed to help torque steer. I believe there are a couple of very informative threads posted on here somewhere about lsd's.

You can reap the benefits of a good LSD even on a stock RA. You don't have to have a (big) turbo to do so. I don't see how it could hurt snow traction, but only help it.

I should have put a LSD on my GS-T long before I started doing siginifcant power mods.

I think a LSD would be a good mod even on a NA car. There's plenty of times where I wish I had it, and I'm not making that much power. I also think it would help in the snow. Trying to go from a stop in snow is the most frustrating activity possible in the RA.

are you refering to cornering in the snow? I recall having read something about certain types of diffs lock when cornering in the snow, which is a bad thing

and yes, snow set aside this would be a very good mod to have on this car, how would you do that with an auto? or is that part of the drivetrain the same as manual?

I think the only LSD available for the RA is a ATB, or auto torque biasing diff, which won't lock under those conditions. Only the clutch types do that.

did a search and people who have them said that they had worse handling in the snow.. dont know why.... also had a talk to a N/A guy who said he felt a differnce but nothing worth the money it cost and regreted not putting the money into other things.

i dont have the money anyway and i havent even gotten the Camshaft yet, but this and the head are what im looking at next and with the mixed results i may go for the head first.

Get the camshaft and head get the car tuned appropiately and then when everything is run in take the car for a real blast with some heavy/hard cornering under power and feel / hear the lose of traction it feel great and sounds great but on a track it is not so great as it is lost time trying to find traction

A LSD will remove a very large proprtion of the torque steer and loss of traction which again is great for hard cornering purposes... your steering will become slightly heavy at very very low 1st gear speeds bu it is something you will get used to and not even notice after a few weeks

personally after having driven a car with LSD in it now I am quite happy to get one for my car were as before I was not quite sure try and borrow a car that has a LSD in it and feel the difference before you buy
