swapping to normal lancer ecu

hmmm.. since ecu flash works for these and not for ours could we swap to a normal lancer ecu and use one of those stand alone vtec controler to trigger mivec or maybe use an evo 9 or use lancer i think you can program soem aux control... so use that for mivec. (i am sure i am missing alot here)

could you use an evo 9 ecu if you were turboed?

viability as seen by my feeble mind (in order to work need to minimize cons maximize pros):

cons

-cost and time of implimentation
-difference in sensors (raises cost)
-hassle (even if we get it working the amount of tuning and the risk)
-danger of failure

pros

-free tuning
-anytime tuning
-better control
-the possibilites are limit less

i am nowhere near the skill level to achieve or attempt this but thought id throw it out there. I am sure there are other techincal details i am missing.
comments are welcome you may flame i dont care matter of fact some1 come crush this delusional fantasy please...

I think this can be done, a canadian guy did it if I remember correctly. I'll PM him this thread.

I'm that guy, sadly it cannot be done, the lancer g94 ecu shares more in common with an evo then the g69, the g69 ecu is very strange and different. from plugs to interface. if they come out with a reflash for the GS eclipse, there is a very good chance it will cross over to the RA aswell.

It wont work, I dont even think it plugs in!

But you can try to figure out each cable of the 2 ECUs and maybe make it work modifying the HARNESS ....

Flat out won't work. The ECUs are completely different. Even if you spliced in a 94 ECU, it wouldn't be able to control MIVEC, our TB, or read our MAF. I'm sure there's more.

to add: you would need to either reprogram the ECU to understand the sensors or swap them out as well. this leads into fitment issues as well as functional issues...
