RRM Piggy Back ECU
Had my p/b ecu installed yesterday at first was a little disappointed felt faster at low rpms but bogged mid rpms then would pick up again at mivec. Then today ran all the 87 octane gas out and put in 92 WOW! different car. Gave a friend a ride and went up a long curvy hill that would usually shift to 3rd alot but it pulled in fourth like it use to in 3rd. Great mod!!!! Tomorrow when it is not Africa hot gonna install Header and D/P.

I always use premium in my RA, and my p/b gets here tuesday, I'm like a kid on Christmas eve waiting for the morning =]
mikemo, shouldn't you have drove your car for like 20+ mins under 3k rpm after letting it idle for 20 so the ecu can adjust to having the piggy?

haha Dan...
I'm still yet to tune, but so far honestly my wideband is telling me that i'm running pretty good so far, I haven't logged yet but my buddy sits there and loves to watch my wideband and just reads off the numbers for me without me asking him to.
I did fix my o2 sensor and i'm running better, not as rich. Dan did you get that iso. I sent you with that special thingy you wanted... haha

I was at a Lancer meet over at RRM on Saturday and I was talking to Rob about the piggy and using it with my GS Eclipse he said the install would be a lil different(pinouts on ECU) but should work fine. He also said that the basic tune that it is setup with out of the box should also be ok, is that correct would it be fine to use the preset tune? This hasn't been done yet on a GS so he told me that I need to talk to the guys over at RRE about it more. I am going to ask if they would like to use my car as a test fit for this hopefully they will be up to trying this out.
OT: While I was there got a pulley installed.

I thought I'd post here instead of making a new thread.
I installed my piggy today, did all the necessary things (like let car idle for 15, drive conservatively for 20 mins) and never got so much as a CEL or a bad starting turning the car on, but when I went into WOT, at the 1.5k-3.5k rpm range, I had Noticeably less power, then engine accelerated at about 75-80% slower than without the piggy, higher end seemed to be just the same as before the install, granted my piggy didnt have the cd for the R4 program in the package (I already emailed brian at roadrace about that). but should that be expected for the RA on the base map?
My mods are SRI, UDP, and fast cat exhaust, which should be similar enough (in my mind) to the base tune for CAI, UDP, and axle back, but I was still surprised at the decrease in power, I rechecked all the wires from the install and everything is just how the instructions say, can anyone explain this loss of power to me?

I'll do it tomorrow rock, and I've always used 93 octane premium gas, made sure everything is installed correctly.
My Cd for the R4 wont get here till Wednesday so I've just been going off feel for the past week and its a deff decrease in power.
