hum interesting, at least I'm not the only one. So it is possible to push back that tensioner with muscles ... I just have to find someone. Out of curiosity, was your car fully jacked ? I'm just trying to figure out how your friend managed to pull it back because the shocks are kinda in the way.

yeah I know I shouldn't have to change the tensioner ever. I'll probably give it a another shot and if it doesn't work I'll send it to a shop.

no my car was not fully jacked. my friend isn't even like some super body builder. he's only like 160, but he does have some muscle. he basically lied on the ground (chest on ground) then with his right arm he pushed it forward (so he was facing the back of the car) he couldn't push it all the way back so u can slip that allen key in the holes so you just have to be really quick and get at least 2 bolts on (opposite of each other) with the belt already lined up too. i believe my car was only jacked up at the right behind the wheel you take out. UDP is a b*tch and its kind of hard to tell the power difference, but wutevas!

if i remember right, theres a slot in the block of the 4g69 that you can put a 1/2 inch extension and it keeps the tensioner out of the way while you work on the udp. i have an 06 eclipse gs and i imagine they should be the same for the RA.

Unless you're talking about a different slot, please read the beginning of the post and see that that is not possible.
