Downpipe question???

i heard that an rrm downpipe for 04 RA wont fit an 06 RA coz of the stock header fitment issue. what if i pair the downpipe with an rrm header, would it work?

dont know if this has been asked before. i've searched but didnt find an answer. would really appreciate any help.

Thanks in advance

If you're going to do that why don't you just buy both of them?

I would just buy it brand new cause you never know if there's cracks or anything that the owner may not know about. I just placed my order 10 minutes ago and I cant wait for it to come in

WHAT! buy me a set =) mmm waiting for catback exhaust...

I believe its safe to say that the DP will only fit with the header in your case...

OH Raikiri, let me know how it sounds on your car, is the highflow already installed in the set or no?

I have the catback already from RRM so I'll take videos of before and after installation of the header/dp and then before and after the install of the HF Cat... I'm sure people would be interested in hearing a sample so they know that they're getting into before they buy

No the highflow isnt already installed on the set. You have to buy them separately and then have the highflow welded onto the dp once you get them.

Do you mean that there is someone selling the upper part of the rrm 4-1 header??? Remember the downpipe was built to connect to the stock "semiheader" (the car has a 4-2-1 O.E. header/downpipe). So no, it should not fit the RRM upper part of the header and I know there was some fitment issues with the downpipe in some Ralliarts, but I'm not sure if it was specifically '06s. Maybe you should ask Rock or check this thread.

Edit- Apparently it will fit any R/A if it has the 4-2-1 configuration (i guess some have a 4-1 header ???)

Yes this would be very helpful! The highflow cat is just to tone down the noise? Will it affect performance at all?

Rock said it shouldn't so I'm going to trust him on that.

To the OP i would suggest buying it new just so you don't have fitment issues finding out after you have bought the item

Raikiri,

I am definitely interested in seeing those videos of before/after install. I'm getting ready to throw down the cash for the header/downpipe/high-flow cat. How soon do you think it will be until you do the install?

Well, I couldn't wait. I got a bug and ordered the Header/Downpipe/High-Flow Cat on Friday. I am still looking forward to the vids of before and after install though! I can't wait till the parts get here!

sorry guys I won't be able to get the videos in this week.... because of the accident that I got into my body shop asked me to come in today around noon and my parts won't get here til like 6pm so I won't be able to install the parts this week... I originally thought I'd be going to the bodyshop tomorrow so I was going to work on the car today but I guess that's not the case anymore... I'll try and get vids up when the car is back
