Engine Light On After Intake

So when the injen CAI was installed on my car everything was fine. Then one day I decided to go through an automatic car wash, with an undercar wash. I came out of the car wash fine, and then went home for a bit. A few hours later I went for another ride to school and going up a hill pushed my car a bit hard... then suddently my car was struggling to get past 4000 RPM and then the engine light comes on...

After a few days it seems the car drives fine, but the light is still on... and ideas of how to fix this? Or the problem? I thought maybe just a bit of water got in... but its been 2 days now, and the light is still on.

Water got into something, and caused a misfire. Ecu picked it up. Shouldn't have anymore problems so long as you don't get water into whatever caused the issue. You should only mist the engine bay, not direct pressure.

Yea water got into the intake and then the manifold causing misfire. Bring it to a shop and tell them to run a diagnostic and to have them clear the CEL, most shops won't even charge for it.

I don't know about fix, you can reset the ecu by unhooking the battery for like 45 min.

I did that once I got home from the garage, after resetting the ECU the engine light is off... however does this mean that the light isn't on but there still is a misfire?

I wouldn't worry about the misfire code unless it comes back.

okay, I hope it doesn't... the reason I ask is because the car has pulses of harsh idling, so i thought maybe its still there

If there is a misfire on cylinder 4 you can remove the spark plug and see if any water got in there.
