he can get it... he's just gonna put it on the sportback but its alot of wasted effort to install it on the RA now and then undo it and then redo it on the diff car

ok so i figured since this is an UDP thread that i would just post this in here instead of starting a new one... so anyways i have been getting a squeal under the hood every time i am basically starting from a stop and the steering wheel is cranked (ex. backing out of a parking spot). and it only happens when i have the wheel cranked all the way... so i figured it could be something going on with my power steering so i took it in to the dealership and they are telling me that the belt that came with my underdrive pulley is too long... they said it needs to be roughly an inch shorter... so i dunno are they right? has anyone else had this issue at all... i installed the pulley and belt myself... the UDP is from RRM... so maybe just a bad install or something or could it be the belt is actually the wrong size? i havent heard of anyone else having this issue with it... they said just take it to lordco or something and have them measure the belt and grab me a new one thats a little shorter..

also one other thing to add is that it was not doing this right away... when i first installed it i had no problems at all... but its bin a year with it on... and it maybe started making sounds early last fall... cant remember exactly... but its just gotten worse over time.

This is the rrm pulley i assume. I havent seen another out there so ill just answer it if it was. RRM sent in the combo a shorter belt. The stock ralliart belt would be too big since you lost about an inch worth of lateral direction if not more. Ive only had mine a short while and its to soon to say but if anythin see where they got the belt from and get a new one. Maybe it just wore wrong idk. A shorter belt shouldnt be the answer since i really had to work to get mine on and its snug. If anything call rrm or pm rock they should have a solid answer for you.

please spend the extra 20$ and put in a new belt as you should never put back a used belt since it iis kinda stretched when installed

When i tested my UDP, I noticed from a dead stop a loss of torque from 1-2. But i did notice a minimal accelaretion increase. But the revs do climb quicker. Overall a C. I have UDP, RRM CE, INJEN CAI

I dont meen to steal the thread, but I figured it was better then starting a new one.
I bought the rrm udp last week and I tried to install it tonight but i couldnt get the stock pully off, the bolts would not budge. Then i realised that there were only 3 bolts and that one had already been sheered off! Im assuming the mechanic who did my timing belt snaped it and decided not to tell me about it....Did anybody else have problems taking the stock pully off???

my dealership installed it for me to avoid this type of issues.
The belt tensionner was stuck when they changed the pulley and had to order a new belt tensionner and changed it under warranty.

your case seems a bit more desperate as missing a bolt on the crank pulley would scare me to death.
