question for the Auto RAs with CAIs....

ok, so ive tried searching for this but i had no luck finding the answer. i plan on getting the injen CAI but i was told by Rob at RRM the the CAI will just get smashed between my tranny and engine and that i should get there SRI, is that true, or is rob just trying to make a sell (no offence Rob)...any advise from you guys (or girls) who have CAI in your automatic RA...

Yes the CAI will get smashed not so much between the engine and tranny but by the both as a whole against anything else in the engine compartment. Most people dont realize how much our engines actually twist. We have very torque'y engines for 4 cycl. I have a custom Short ram intake and the filter got all smashed just from the engine slaming it again a little metal niple where the air box used to be. So I would recomend solid motor mounts (or at least alot stiffer ones) if you really want the CAI. Also swapping the mounts will greatly reduce the dredded wheel hop we get in our cars.

what's wheel hop? I thought it was just my car happy to be moving again...

Auto with a CAI in the RA is tough due to the above described. I suggest the RRM SRI. My RA is manual but i love the SRI, but then again some say the auto and the SRI dont' make much of a difference whereas i def felt a difference with my 5spd.

It is the same power gain. SRI wise......the CAI really isn't the best for the Auto anyways......unless you manually shift. Our autos have enough torque mulitplication that with the SRI you should notice a better acceleration then the CAI.....just reuse your stock cleaner tube.....so you get colder outside air.....just my opinion....

The RRM SRI is too long for the stock nozzle to work, I tried.. that or my intake is just weird..

I don't think zaklee still sells those dampeners. Last I heard they just do the shifter bushings... but you could ask.

I put a RMR SRI on my girls 02 OZ Rally because it's auto. It sure made a difference. That thing is kinda a little beast now. Speaking of which I need to check the filter today.

I have no idea what I am gonna do anyone with opinions please pm me or post on here
