New reflash features...

Years ago I implemented an overboost cut and a launch control feature for the hondas. I'm wondering what people think of the launch control (2 step) for the ralliart? Here is generally how it will work.

When the car is not moving it will have a lower rev limiter, let's say 3000 rpm Once it's rolling, let's say above 5mph the rev limiter goes back to the normal 6700 one. This way at the lights you can floor the car and it will bounce at 3000. Soon as you pop the clutch and the vehicle starts to move (or spin) the rev limiter is lifted.

Ultimately I would like to make this limiter user-adjustable but I haven't worked out exactly how I want to do it yet. There are enough spare inputs on the ECU that I could just add a wire and a knob so you could adjust it.

Just wondering if this feature is desirable and what other features people would like to see.

Mike,
You are still THE man!!

How about an adjustable MIVEC switch point?

Or close/open loop switch over?

Or (dreaming a little) and may be harder to pull off an inyector size adjusment?

Keep on going!!

Last night I passed the 730h mark disassembling the rom. My wife marvels at how a difficult job makes me work harder, not give up... She wonders how I managed to convince her to put a ring on her finger...

Back on topic, I have yet to see a ralliart where I felt the mivec point needed to be adjusted. We are going to be tuning a vehicle soon that has cams installed so I will see if it is necessary at that point. Unlike hondas, mitsu picked a very nice mivec point. For the open loop/closed loop switches, I can already adjust that, but I'm going to patch the routine to take the MAP signal into consideration too.

The injector size thing, I thought I had that worked out but there are a few more tricks to be had in the fuel calculation routine but it is definitely on my list.

No worries. Car's quicker with my fat *** out of it isn't it

Next time you're over I will add that feature provided it is tested by that point in time.

^Sweet thanks Mike can't wait for Wednesday now!

Also yes the car does seem faster without you in the passenger seat (LOL). Must admit I am loving the hell out of that new redline, neighbors on the other hand are not.

Good. Should have news on new valve springs and retainers figured out for you. I just need to verify the seat pressure and coil bind before I order a set. Then expect me to dangle them under your nose and tease you like a good horsepower dealer that I am...

My project as you may know, it's going turbo. I've heard that launch control allows you not only to establish a rev limiter when the car is not moving but also that the turbo can "charge", is this true? Will this option be available for turbo?

Can "charge" ??
If your asking is ; if, with the launch control, your turbo will be able to make boost, than yes... but only because the turbo is spinning with your exhaust gas, so if the engine turns at around 3000 rpm and your turbo starts to make boost at around 2500 rpm, than yes you'll launch the car with boost... but if you have a huge a$$ turbo that needs to spin at 4000 rpm to starts to make boost, than you'll have to adjust the launch control adequately...

hope it help

A 2-step (lauch control) is basic. The pre-set launch RPM is what you set it as. My friend being 5500 RPM, it acts as temporary rev limit with the clutch engaged at X mph. Once he launches, and XX mph is reached, my new set rpm is enabled, 8000.

And voila how it works !

Sounds awesome! Esp the idea of adjustable via a rheo or similar.

Would love to see some short vids of it in action
