ralliart 5 speed vs. evo 6 speed

ok my ? is, does the trany out of a evo 9 bolt to a 2.4 l 4g69 engine in the 06 ralliart. Also i understand that it will be a all wheel drive trany but can u not remove the transfer case making it a fwd? yes i understand this might sound silly if not stupid to some but that's not what i'm asking. will it bolt to and work as a fwd transmission?

With extensive mods to the tranny possible, but really a 6 peed mr tranny, wouldn't do you any good.

please search as this topic has been covered many times. The amount of money you'll spend makes it not worth the trouble but hey its your car... If you're having tranny issues get a rebuild.

ok i want to make it a awd car one of these days and put a turbo on it i just want to know can it be done and what r the down sides of the six speed ei. will i have to run different cv shafts does it have the same bell housing, ect.

For AWD you are going to need the tranny out of an outlander that has AWD and everything back. The EVO 6 speed is not an extra gear with power, its a gear in the middle, not good for racing.

now i have looked at the outlander before if i do find an awd trany will i be able to use it as a fwd till i can get all the componets for the rear and or can i just get a tranfer case and use my trany i have now?

If you want an AWD turbo Ralliart, then buy a used Evo. Cheaper and more reliable.

No, you cannot put a transfer case onto your current trans, and no, you cannot install a AWD trans then run it as FWD.

As for the 6 speed, there really isn't a benefit. Slightly shorter gear ratios, which equal more shifting, but our car is already geared quite short, so the extra gear really won't help anything.

ok i know this might seem like a dumb ? but does the 04 05 and 06 ralliart 5 speeds have the same gear ratios

To my understanding, in most cases, 6th gear has been used as an overdrive to compensate for close gear ratios in 1-5th gears. Close gear ratios come in performance cars. So really, there's no point putting a MR tranny in a RA, even if it did fit. Major waste of dollaz.
