ok guys i got the new one back from rrm...actually retested one haha...and i hooked it all up and it did the same thing as before. But i tried something different this time to make sure it wasn't my fault. I took a test drive with it all connected up to find the same problem. Then i disconected the yellow/black wire from the piggy(rpm wire i think) but left all the other wires connected and it gained 90% of its power back if not all of it. If i disconected any other wire than that the car would die instantly or chug untill it died. This tells me that the rrm map is totally wrong for me am i right? any input would be apreciated thanks!

Well I'd think that it must be the tune not going well with your climate.

I may have a tune. You will have to enter the values line by line it was tuned for Ottawa Ontario Canada elevation. PM me if you want it...I cant remember where the tune came from but I know it was in my car. I also have the instructions if you want to compare...I am puzzled by the way your car runs. As much as I dont like piggbacks I will admit mine worked ok for a bit, then it lost power and i would have to reload the maps and worked ok for a bit, then it lost power and i would have to reload the maps worked ok for a bit, then it lost power and i would have to reload the maps ok you get the idea...LOL

hOw long would yours take til it lost power? Had mine in about a month now no issues. So far it's my best mod. All my other mods were cool but when I put that piggy on and it brought it all together I was haaaapppy

I noticed it after a few weeks then all i did was dicconect the ecu and the power came back, its a slight differnce but i did notice it. As I said its a good mod for what it does but in my experience the ecu did adjust as the signal had been changed.

The afr is at at 14.7-1 and the piggy will lean that out a bit say to 14.1-1(thats just an example)...ecu is not supposed to see the constant change so it adjusts and you loose the power you had....reset the ecu and all is good again. Just gets annoying having to reset the ecu all the time. For better results unplug the ecu not the battery I have found that unplugging the ecu works better than disconnecting the battery.

Try it and see if you notice a differnce.

the loss in power was instant...from the second i put the piggy on not over time. But i called rrm today and they said to make extra sure that all the wires were right cause they never had a problem like this. So im gonna redo the entire installation again just to make sure im not a complete idiot. The possible problem they gave me was a setting on the piggy had defaulted on accident. So i gotta find my serial cable to check it...darn haha. Well im gonna redo it all tomro and keep u guys updated. And Robert at rrm said that even though the climate does effect it a little, it would not effect it nearly as much as im getting at least 40-50% power loss ugh. haha

ok guys i redid the install again cause im waiting on my serial cord in the mail to hook it up to my laptop. This time i stripped the wires where i tee'd in and still there was no difference from before. instead of using connectors on the wire cut in half(MAF) i think i just twisted the stripped ends together and yet another fail. All the wires look good going all the way into the piggy itself. The only things i can think of is that a setting either defaulted so i gotta wait till the ups guy comes...or theres a short inside the box somewhere.

what mods are you running??? are you getting a check engine light?? also it takes about 20 to 40 miles for the piggy and the ecu to learn. my car ran real bad at first. really sluggish in low rpms. but its a learning curve. and please solder the wires!! i'm a professional car stereo installer, and thats the only way to go!! good luck

ok i got my 3rd box from rrm lol. actually the first 2 were the same just got re-mapped. Ok i installed the 3rd box and guess what, same problem. I havent drove it with the box no 40 miles but i did go about 15 minutes. It feels like it wants to go but something is holding it back. Thats the feeling i get when i punch it, it feels jumpy and jittery. But if i drive it like normal i would never know the difference between stock and piggyed. Im all outta ideas, i know its connected right cause the same problem 3 times in a row, and rrm don't know what to think either. i think its time to return it for good.

honestly i think it just needs to be finetuned for your car/climate. there is no way that rrm's parts would screw up your car that bad. i'm sure there are plenty of people here on the forums that can testify to the quality of their piggy
