Problems after UDP install

The next day after installing my UDP my battery decides to just die on me. No warning, just dead. I should have seen this coming though, the positive terminal had recently been crusting up real bad.

Well, brand new battery now and my wife and I are going to the Waffle House last night and the car just dies at a stop sign. Basically it idled too low and died. Started right back up, but still, it never did that before.

Also I've noticed with my A/C blower on 3-4 that when I come to a stop it slows down, but when I rev it a little the A/C blows harder again. It may or may not have done this before the UDP, I don't remember. Still kinda weird.

Anyone else have any strange issues like this? Maybe my car just stalled because the ECU is still going through a learning process after putting in the new battery?

Do you have an aftermarket stereo?

After my car was sitting for a week getting he tranny put back in i had the same problems you described. The battery was practically new at the time. It just kept dying. After about 3 days worth of driving it all smoothed out.

No aftermarket stereo.

I've been driving it all day and so far no problems. First thing this morning the idle would dip a little low, but it's gotten better. I guess it could have been the ECU re-learning.

never had any problems after i installed the udp.

the lower blower speed, and dimmed headlights and dash lights is normal at idle with the udp. remember, its smaller (hence under-drive), and therefore spins the serpentine belt at a slower speed, and therefore the alternator spins slower as well.
