I put my winter tires on last night and they are quite a bit quieter then the summer tires I have.
One thing I noticed was that in 4th gear doing about 59.5 km/h I can hear a whining coming from the transaxle. Sounds kinda cool, but was wondering if anyone else has noticed this?

 

Well hard to say I am wondering you think you can hear it better now with the 'Quieter' tires? Also kinda had to say some noises sound like there coming from one place when its actually another. Especially if you just only changed tires is it only at the certain speed? don't hear anything below or above that speed?

 

Is it only in that gear and at that speed? Try driving the same rpm (lower speed) in 3rd, or the same speed (higher rpm), then do the same in 5th. If it's only 4th gear at 59.5 km/h that does it, then it's your transmission.
