Rough Idle When Cold

I took a video of my idle. It's only rough when it's cold like if it's sat overnight or for a while. It's less rough if I press the clutch. After the engine warms up a bit, it doesn't idle rough at all. Anyone have an idea what it's from?

Sounds similar to my issue on cold starts. When I push the clutch in, it also diminishes. I had a friend of mine who is a DSM guy (tmzperformance.com) take a look\listen and he concluded that it's my input shaft most likely (bearings).

Obviously, he would have to tear it down to really know what the issue is, but there is an issue with my transmission.

Do you hear a clatter sound (it could be very faint) when easing out of 1st gear? I'm talking RPMs of less than 2k. Mine became really noticable when I installed my Blox roll stopper mount. Once I stiffened that up, I could really hear the clattering.

A rebuild is in the works for me in spring when I can bring out my summer car and have this one worked on.

That doesn't sound good at all , I'd start to save up some cash for whatever it maybe...have it looked at by a good mechanic and keep us posted on what it is...

i'm gonna check the iac tomorrow since it's my day off, but does anyone know, or have a link to a process to remove and clean it?

VELO...no clatter....only the rough idle and only when cold. I was thinking it might be a bearing in the timing belt pulley cause the belt seems to squeak just a tiny amount as well. I'm currently looking for a good shop to go to get the timing belt and spark plugs done.

Ok, I took another listen and it sounds pretty much like mine did when it was the accessory belt tensioner (Belt Tensioner), took literally 25 minutes to replace. Here is my vid, give them both a listen (never mind the title, I originally thought it was the idler as well)..

To validate, I took off the accessory belt and started the car, you only need like 10 seconds of run time to determine if it's the timing or the accessory belt.
