Request for exhaust feedback

I have a 2006 Lancer Ralliart w/ the stock exhaust, cat, and header. I just wanted to hear what other people have to say about different products. While I am interested in the gains from these products, I do not want that raspy sound that civics have. If it sounds bad, I won't keep it.
P.S. I have been looking into the RRM header/dp combo as well as the RPW header/flexpipe set. (i think the flexpipe is the same as the dp, but not sure). As for exhausts, the RRM catback exhaust is the only one that I am sure will fit w/o problems, but the Greddy Evo 2 exhaust recently heightened my interest.
Please let me know what you guys have, how you like it, etc.

Hey man, I had stock exhaust and cut out my resonator and welded in a straight pipe. Sounded like crap, very raspy lol. I then got the magnaflow muffler that rrm has in there kit, but i got mine on craigslist. Had the stock muffler cut out and magnaflow welded in. Was still too raspy for me without any resonator. Then got a megan test pipe/resonator welded in were the stock one was oringally cut out.

With the magnaflow muffler and a megan resonator instead of the stock one, I am very happy with the sound, no raspiness at all and has a growl to it. I think I'm going to get a custom downpipe made and 2.25" piping form the downpipe back to the muffler with the resonator in between.

If I were you, I would keep the stock header. Get a custom downpipe made and a custom 2.25" pipe to the muffler with a resonator in there and get a magnaflow muffler welded on. You would save some money and happy with the sound and performance.

How would I go about getting a custom downpipe made? It seems that there is a lot to know, and I am still a Ralliart noob.

I would just call around to some different shops around your area and have them take a look and see if they could make something for you. Thats what I'm probably planning on doing. Theres a few shops around there that would do it for me, as long as they have a pipe bender its not too hard for them to do and you save a lot of money.

Ive always wondered what people mean by "shops." I go to a shell station that does the minor work on my car, but I don't think that it's the type of "shop" to do personal mods.
P.S. Do you know some of the specs on our piping?

I had this, and yes it was a direct bolt on - no fitnment issues at all. It was also way to damn loud for me, but only in the cabin. It sounded nice and low outside - not like a dirty ricer civic at all. I had to revert back to stock though, the loudness was giving me a headache. Others say it is tolerable, but not I.

i have a magnaflow muffler/resinator. sounds awesome, and i think magnaflow is the best sounding muffler on the market, just my opinion. im also getting my header and dp back, so ill have to throw on a high flow cat to reduce the noise. but its gonna sounds stupid mean.

What do you mean by "this" The Evo 2 exhaust or the RRM Magnaflow Catback? or header+dp?

Whatever you get will sound raspy if you do not have headers and dp. I have the mangaflow cat back and before i got the header+dp it did have a slight raspiness to it. However, it sounds much better than most other exhausts I have heard. . And, if you're going to get exhaust, don't half *** it, get the headers all the way back done, no bigger than 2.25". Hope this helps!

If you don't want raspy have a cat welded into the header/dp combo. My exhaust is like this, header, dp with cat and from the cat it goes 2.25 inch pipe straight to a wickedflow muffler. No resonator. I'm a tad raspy due to the muffler but when I had my magnaflow there was no raspyness.

If your going performance and sound def go full system. I have the OBX header/DP to 2.5" (with ideas of going turbo in the "future") with the borla boomer exhaust. I kept the stock cat on to lower the sound and fear of not passing smog. It has good sound and from TORQUE app testing got bw 7-12hp and 5-9lbstrq. The only complaint I have is a vibration sound from the start I havent found grrr.
