no i dont think you need the bearings off to install the unit, but your right if they have been removed id just buy new ones since that one bearing side is almost impossible to get at the inner race to pull properly.

yeah, Ziggy wanted the bearings off, otherwise it would have been drop-in cause i still had them on there, and they were in good shape...

Excellent!!!

Yeah, I can easily detect wheel slippage on one side as I accelerate out of some corners. I dunno. Man, I gotta think about this..

Oooo.... I want one so so very bad. But I think dropping the auto tranny might be more than its worth at the moment. This would be so helpful as I've been noticing wheel spin on one side more and more lately!

If it is around in a few weeks I will get it. My car is going to get some much needed love. I definitely have traction issues!!! I have to get the freaking release bearing done so the Trans has to come out be a good upgrade at that point. Email me let me know if you can hold on to it for a few weeks....oh and how much?

RTM Racing sells them for $185 for mild steel, and $225 for tool steel...i still would like a spare diff if i ever have to send the Quaife out for service, so if you want to trade diffs, and i'll give you a sweet deal, cause i didn't pay nearly the actually price of this, Ziggy cut me a deal cause i sent my diff for R&D. I'll ask him what type of steel the unit that he provided me with is.

Thanks you Cranswick; for your tireless research and commitment. I have no idea why I have been so dormant on this forum, I'm totally excited to get back in the the RalliArt game. Build a wagon that will rival the Fiero! (That won't happen)
