The blox front mount, the vibration is minimal, and with the window weld in the rear mount, the engine does not move, lol. all in all the way the car drives now, with the reflash/tune, LSD, mounts and clutch...it feels like this is how mitsu should have made a FWD if they were going to put a RalliArt badge on it.

Between the LSD and the mounts though, the power the engine is capable of definately makes it to the road. HP numbers are nice, but hooking up off the line, and between shifts makes the most difference out of any mod you can throw at this thing.

Got a video on the way.
Oh man this is what dreams are made of. It's great that you are up and running again, I am happy for you. I cannot imagine what it would be like to be without my car for so long.

first post was april 10th...so it been a while, i was a month without parts, and one weekend i did not work on it due to weather, so it was actually only 3 weekends worth of work, or about a week for normal people. But realistically the time the head took at the machine shop, and painting and all that, it still would have been a few weeks, even if i was home through the week. just a timing belt and water pump job can be easily tackled in a day, so if you haven't done yours, i recommend you do it.

I can't even express how happy i am to have her running again. And the drive is better than ever, though i did run my brake system dry, so two full flushes later, BMC bleed twice, and 3 times bleeding the lines, i still don't get brake pressure until half way through the pedal throw, i still have not adjusted valve lash, and i still got a bit of air to work out of the cooling system, but temps are normal, driving is safe, and the ticking valves is not overwhelming.

funny story about you not wanting to drive it cause you might break something, i was half way through angus heading back to the base, and it sprung a fuel leak, i think i didn't torque the one bolt enough on the fuel rail, and the vibration of the motor backed the far right injector out, and she started sputtering, pulled over, and fuel was leaking out around the seal. Good thing it didn't come all the way out, lol... it's good to go now.

And yeah, i find the solid mounts change the sound of the motor a little bit, i think it sounds a little deeper than it did before. best sounding $50 muffler on the market.

Long overdue...lol, this video was made the day she was back on the ground, right before i realised i had no brake pressure after bleeding 3 times, lol so the maiden voyage was postponed and not filmed, lol.

so yeah, i'm cracking the transmission open tomorrow, so stay tuned for more pics...

Hi Cranswick, remember this ? You meant the rear engine mount as being the most difficult part to access right ?

yeah, cause you have to rotate the transmission to clear the rear mount...it is very difficult to get good torque on that mount while the engine and tranny are in...

Arrgg, ok thanks. I was thinking of getting new front and rear mounts for next "season". Will stick to just the front then.

I'd get that rear one too, as it's usually the one that fails

this.

when i finally got the mount off, it was toast...i used the 3M window weld method on that one...definately get the blox (or similar) for the front.

All the basic principles and operation of a vehicle i learned from my dad, he was a mechanic, he lives two time zones away but sometime when i'm in a bind, i'll call him, and he'll offer his advice...but as far as this this car goes, it was a learning experience for sure...that's the best way to get to know your vehicle. Maintenance manual helps a lot too...but you should have a base knowledge of what does what, and what tools can be used in certain areas/situations. especially with all of mitsubishi's special tools of which i have none. there are always alternative ways that are not as easy.
