Unhappy Transmission *cries*

Okay so I was driving in the rain with my 04 RalliArt and was being stupid and was also pissed off at ended up blowing out second gear. I cant even put my car in second any longer and the car only has 2k miles on it Warranty will cover the tranny right? I figure I'll just go in and play off the whole thing and act like I don't know what happened. I can go from first, to third, to fourth, to fith but I can't put it in second... gah!

Will I have to pay out of my pocket?
Will they be able to fix it like new?

Damnit, if only I wasn't mad enough to kill myself.. *cries*

Damn, that sux

How did you do it exactly? Did you just force it into second and the tranny broke? That sounds like a defect to me because the tranny shouldn't be that fragile.

I agree, you should go to the dealer and play dumb. Just say you were driving along normally, shifted into second and your tranny broke. Hopefully, they'll consider it a defect and replace it under warranty.

Good luck!

It sounds like your synchos are just facked up. I have the same problem with my Evo sometimes. Of course it doesn't help when I'm out racing nitrosed Mustangs and keep missing second.

As per the warranty, I would hope they will fix it. I can't take my car in, I have the S/S clutch line, and I know damn well they'll try to hose me for that.

I would say, take it in. If they don't cover it, they're douchebags and you'll have to cover the repairs yourself. That will be costly, so I wish you the best of luck man.

Yea before you take it in,, go back to a stock cluch line and if you took out the restrictor,, put one back in,,, any good shop that has worked on a buch of evos should have a used one around! That will help your case!

Basically my girlfriend took the car in while I was at work in the morning a couple weeks ago and it was something very minor. I guess it was just a synchro or something because they fixed it within minutes and said it happens sometimes because the gears are so "tight" when the car is brand new and if you're shifting it hard, racing, grinding gears, etc. you can mess up the gears synchros or something like that..

sorry about the update not coming until now

Cars fine again.

but if you really fack it up.. then it's cheating the warranty system

just my righteous opinion

these are performance cars right? They shouldn't break just cuz you drive them a little bit hard.

It couldn't be a syncro if it was fixed in minutes. Unless they work extremely fast like god like. haha

same thing happend to me, warrenty covered it on my end, its the synchro I did the same thing but mine had 1700 miles on it. Even if you end up having to pay for it its only 1800 dollars worth of work. They'll cover it and if they don't have them call me I work for mitsubishi!
