Spongey peddal after clutch swap
so here's the deal. my OEM clutch burnt out on me and i had it changed out for a brand new exedy clutch kit.
here's the dillemma...after about 1/2 hour of bleeding (no more air coming out of the bleeder valve whatsoever), the clutch pedal is very soft still... much much softer than with the OEM clutch/pressure plate.
my question is this: has anyone else experienced this with any other aftermarket clutch kits? (exedy, cm, act, ect) apparently it's supposed to be 20-30% stiffer than the stock clutch...

hmm, did you bleed the master first? and do the brakes work OK?
Also does it appear to disengage fully? Also make sure you don't pump it like you would with the brakes, you just slowly depress the clutch pedal all the way and then bleed, and repeat. Then do the clutch release (slave) cylinder. Why do you need to bleed anyways? just cause it feels soft? or because the system was emptied or disconnected?

The car drives fine, shifts throughout the gears okay, it's just a mushy pedal feel. Doesn't feel right to me at all.
And yes it was taken out when the clutch was done this weekend.
If you weren't such a douche and stayed out in Borden and not moved to Trenton I'd get you to swing by and tell ms if I'm losing my mind

Borden is a very sad place, i'm done my training, i'm back home with my family, and i'm starting work on a new aircraft...
Anyways, if it's working i wouldn't really worry about it, maybe the new fluid is making it easier to release the clutch, i mean the stock clutch is pretty spongey anyways, not like a base lancer, but you know what i mean.

hmm, strange...exedy is oem...the clutch disc i pulled from my car was exedy, and had a mitsu part number stamped on it. You sure it's not a clutch for 4G94? that would suck...I haven't pulled the clutch out of my ES yet, so i couldn't tell you if they are the same, i know they have different part numbers, but i bet they are very similar. The clutch in the base Lancer is VERY soft.
