Does anyone have any pointers on getting that turd back in. front, rear and drivers mounts are all off as well. also side note, what did ya'll torque the pressure plate down to.

thanks. any help would be appreciated.

as for getting it in try and get a second set of hand or what im goona try in a few weeks time is make sure one spline on clutch and input shaft are pretty much at TDC so u know it should just slide on if your still stuck might be dowel pins in the way

I put the rear mount back on and torqued before i put the transmission back in, because it's pretty much impossible to torque it after the transmission is in...then if you angle the block downward toward the driver side you just bench press the tranny up and get the input into the clutch, once it's close, you need someone to jack the block level while someone rotates the tranny forward to clear the rear mount, then push it in as far as you can, to line up the rear mount, then rotate it back into the mount, and then the alignment dowels will line up and you can seat the transmission in place and get your buddy to put a few bolts in, then you can put the driver side mount in...that's the easy part...

pretty much did this, while the motor was leaning downward towards drivers side we lifted the trans angled from the top, once we got the trans housing around the crank and such we were able to wiggle it into place. while getting some of the top bolts started we were able to get the drivers mount in place and tightened to help support the weight. all in all it was not pleasant. Difficulty isn't the hard part, its lack of space to work with......

Thanks for the replies.

I went ahead and got the flywheel machined since it didn't cost me a thing to do so. I've always grown up being told its better to get it machined and done with so maybe depends on who you talk to. BTW, car feels alot better, after chaning the trans fluid as well seems to shift better as in smooth transition going in to all gears. I think I even increased hp and trq by at least 300!!!! (lol just kidding)
