Trouble getting shifter into 1st gear and Reverse.. Clutch or trans?

2006 Evo having trouble getting into first gear and reverse. You have to almost force it in. Does not go in easily 90% of the time.

Ive had people tell me its the trans, or the clutch, or the clutch fork.. Which one is it most likely?? Any help is appreciated.

Clutch needs adjustment, sounds like it's dragging, pretty common.

I get this from time to time myself.

Which direction do you adjust if a clutch is dragging?

In the owners manual it specifically says regarding first gear that if its difficult to get into, you should pump the clutch pedal.

Happens on my 9 all the time. Pump the clutch twice and see if it goes in smooth?

usually you make the rod longer, the how to listed is pretty good.

There was also a video done by jacks transmissions on clutch adjusting that was well done.

Try this as well: http://www.evomoto.com/tech_articles..._article_id=17

I've had my Evo for just over 3 years now, and I've always had notchy shifting. I thought the tranny was having synchro problems, until I PROPERLY bled the clutch line exactly how the link above said to do it. It shifts so much better now that it fully disengages between shifts!

I usually do pump the clutch a few times and it takes care of it.

Subscribed.

I get a small grind going into reverse when cold. I'm going to look in to the methods above.
