transmission noise at idle

I have an evo 8 and at idle when the car is warmed up theres a loud rattle...i have tq solution mounts but when the car is cold it doesnt sound like this...i started doing some research and according to the tsb and jack trans everything leads to the reverse idler gear...the tsb says they sell a kit to fix this? anyone want to school me on this info? also, it says the reverse idler can be replaced without removing the trans? how do i access the reverse idler gear without pulling the tranny?if i dont replace it what happens? just have to deal with the noise?

*edit - forgot to say...if i press the clutch in and out a couple times i can get the noise to quiet down a bit some times...

doesnt sound like that,..it sounds less steady any slightly deeper in tone...the noise goes away when i press the clutch and when the ac kicks on it seems to get louder...the car has tq solutions mounts and the clutch has maybe 4 - 5k miles on it...its an act clutch with oem tob...

*edit - forgot to say...if i press the clutch in and out a couple times i can get the noise to quiet down a bit some times...i just remembered this...thats pretty weird...

My problem was one of the alignment dowels was missing, so the clutch disc couldn't center. It cost me a transmission, but they time I figure it out. Keep an eye out for that, unless you know yours are both in place. If so, that eliminates one possible cause LOL.

Good luck, brotha!

alignment dowels? you mean for the forks that change gear inside the tranny? the ones people safety wire? if so i took it apart once and put new pins in it and safety wired it but the problem was that 3rd and 4rd was is if youre in neutral...

No, the dowels between the trans case and block. One of mine had fallen out and I didn't notice. The trans was misaligned and killed my original 6spd. It was an expensive oversight on my part...I've never had one fall out before, so never thought to check. Oops.

Well my noise is still there. Like i said in 2016, ride it till the wheels fall off. I’m guessing it’s probably gear rattle. Sound is prob magnified since I have tq solution mounts.
