what kind of fluid are you using, and under what conditions is it changing?

hey fluid as far as i know is oem and has like 98000 kms on it, ive done a few bleeds without much results from it.

As for conditions it hqard to say seems like it happens maybe 1/50 clutch pushes if that, usually not untill after ive driven for a bit, and it seems like the clutch will feel fine for a while then itll go either hard one push soft the next (or visa versa) and then be fine. but i dont fully remember.

Maybe heat and a bit of air in the lines?? possible contamination when i pushed the clutch pedal in the winter with the tranny off? or jsut old fluid? its weird that its not a consistant issue but it ahs happened a few times.

Also ever since my clutch change the pedal does feel not as stiff but its hard to say because i hadnt driven it in 6 mnths.

thanks any ideas will help im thinking of just trying to change all the brake/clutch fluid in the lines

I had the same exact issue and never heard of anyone ever having the same problem until you. Mine started right after I installed a new clutch, flywheel, and clutch line. Clutch would get rock hard at some points and go back to normal at some points. I tried all of the following to resolve it.

Replaced master cyclinder. No change.
Replaced slave cylinder. No change.
Replaced all fluid and bled system. No change.
Replaced clutch and pressure plate. (Yes, it was a new clutch being replaced with a new clutch.) No change.

At that point I sold my VIII. Nobody could fix it. Even a well respected mechanic at the dealership. It had to either be the flywheel or the clutch line. Those were the only things left to change. Hopefully some of that may help you.

When you press down on it near the bottom do you feel like a click or resistance?

currently im goona try putting my pedal back in a bit because i know its out a fair amount maybe change the fluid. weird that same as u happened right after a clutch change

edit 1: when u did the clutch change did u have to pull your pedal out maybe causing an over extension of the clutch fork and in return the slave cylinder? im not sure if this might be a problem for me

Do you still have that accumulator on? I was able to remove mine and run the line to the slave Just be careful not to kink it or bend it to much... When you remove it the clutch will feel stiffer

Idk if it's possible or not but what if it's failing and causing the clutch to feel firmer and than back to regular and maybe that's why the shop couldn't figure out what was wrong with Thegames car

i would agree if the symptoms were more regular the fact that i can drive it some dy for an hour no problem and then other days after an hour of dricing it may happen once confuses me a bit.

On an updated point i did move the clutch pedal in a little bit on fri and no problems since then but it hasn't been really hot and i haven't been on a really long drive latly so hard to say im hoping that maybe the fork was just being overextended a bit cause i did have the pedal almost fully extended.

Im goona lift the front end today and just give everything a once over make sure things are tight and tranny/slave isnt leaking
