Custom rerouted exhaust plan
Custom rerouted exhaust plan
So basically I wanted to redo the exhaust but I wanted to change it up a bit.
My plan was to route it as straight as possible, I don't think Ill need any piping changes though, I plan on doing a few things not to much.
1.custom air intake
2. udp kit
3.light weight timing belt? (light weight pulleys too)
4.headers
5.exhaust (reroute and cat delete)
6.fly wheel
7.small lowering
8.throttle body
9.piggyback retune

Back to the exhaust
The stock has a small bend before the cat that I don't think I can get rid of, then it goes to the cat that I plan on deleting no matter what, then it goes to the res which I plan on putting a nicer one on or just a new one (Car has 146k Miles) then after that it makes a turn like in the picture, then after the turn it goes back to straight back until it gets to the area near the tires where it bends up to it and back down to the muffler.
Now in plan one it goes from the headers to a cat delete, then when it gets to the 1st curve it follows straight out to the outside of car, the only issue with this plan is that it exits near the rear passenger door which id be worried about passengers burning themselves or a potential fume problem esp with windows down cuzz thats the only way i drive e_e (cheap skate)
Plan 2 starts the same but instead of curving it drops down ( under the car where it curves to the side in the stock picture theres part of the car a large square the drops down) it drops down low enough to pass under the part ( not sure of the name, its where the back struts bolt on and ur rear sway bar etc go) it goes straight back to past that, then the muffler. The issue with plan 2 is ground clearence, not so much the pipping but the muffler, My maybe fix to this plan was put the muffler way further back then at the end where it normally goes, im not sure if this changes sound because thered be a lot of pipping before it exits at the rear.
So hows everyone like these plans? issues etc? id like some feed back on them so i can change them to fit the car best for look and performance
ps plan on getting a borla muffler and probally a magnaflow glasspack

Update: im going to start saving up money for plan 2. I think Ill have enough room to squeeze a muffler where it needs to go. This will be a while as I need struts atm which is the major need but Ill keep updated with picks when this starts.
