Misfire When Starting In 1st

Hey guys. Lately my car has been randomly misfiring. It's only when I start in first and already slightly rolling. It doesn't do it all the time, maybe about 4/10 times starting like that. I changed the spark plugs already and it seemed to do it less often, but it isn't gone. The previous spark plugs looked like they were firing fine, but I changed them anyways to see if it would help. Unfortunately not when it does misfire, the car shakes and sometimes quite violently. Any ideas how to fix this?

What type of spark plugs did you use? Did you check the gap to see if they were all within spec? Is there any check engine lights? How do you know it's spark an not fuel? This needs a lot more information if you want help

I changed the spark plugs with the NGK laser platinum I think. Either laser platinum or laser iridium. 99% sure it is platinum. The plug gaps are good and no check engine light. I thought I would change the spark plugs first as that would be the easiest way to check. However, since I have changed to the new spark plugs, it hasn't been misfiring as often. Mostly when I come off the highway and then start in 1st gear, it will start to shake.

Maybe you don't know how to drive stick right? Are you giving it enough gas when starting in first? Supposed to be iridium not platnium

That kind of issue has to do with spark or fuel delivery. Look at the old plugs do they all look the same? if one is different then you can narrow it down to that cylinder providing you marked the plugs?

Now that you have new plugs, coil packs, fuel filter, fuel pump, injectors need to be tested. Some of the 2.0t VW i have been working with are very touchy for a clogged fuel filter. Start with those. without a cel can be annoying to diagnose.

It really sounds like he's not giving the car enough gas.. Only happens in 1st, engine starts to shake, no check engine... I say try giving it a lil bit more gas when starting in first.. Is this your first manual transmission car?

my initial thought was clutch chatter.

I know how to drive stick. It usually does it when I give it more gas to start. The more gas I give it when I start, the more it shakes. Its not the same stuttering, clunky shaking as it would when you don't give it any gas. It's more of a feeling of losing and gaining traction but obviously it isn't if I'm hardly moving.

I'll see what I can do to check those OttRalliart05, but another question I have, if it is misfiring, would it be misfiring all the time, or just when the car starts to shake like that?

Thanks for you input and suggestions. Much appreciated.

The first time it did this to me, I honestly thought it was something to do with the clutch. I honestly don't know a whole lot about cars even though my dad is a mechanic I've asked a few people that might know what it is and they both say its a misfire even though they won't want to find a couple minutes for me to show them exactly what is going on. Is there a quick little way to check for clutch chatter? I did a little research on this before and and read that starting in 2nd or 3rd gear at about 3k RPM might temporarily make it go away?

Inspect your mounts. My chatter was caused by a failing front mount, I cured it swapping a Blox roller stopper in. Also had a pretty damaged crossmember, I'd also look into that.
