crank shaft sensor replacement
so last week my service engine soon light came on , so I took it to pepboys to run the code and it came up replace crankshaft angle senor . so this will be the second time im replacing it , the last time I went to the dealership , and it cost 415 . i can get the oem part for 90 is the a easier way to do this , then have to take off all the pullys and belts .
nope...belt, pulleys and lower timing cover...
what's your mileage? and how many miles since the last time you changed it...my car has 220,000km and has never had a crank angle sensor fail...
the thing is, if the crank angle sensor failed the car shouldn't run, maybe i'm wrong, but I know for sure the car won't start with out a cam angle signal. I would check the connector and wiring if sensor keep going out...
I would check your battery terminals are tight, clear the code and see if it comes up again...

Yeah I don't think it would run if it was bad because it's a position sensor like the cam sensor and the ecu uses it for timing and if it wasn't getting a signal than timing wouldnt be accurate And would damage internals... How long ago did the dealer do the job? Did the offer any type of warranty?

the first time I had 65,000 miles on the car, now I have 140,000 miles . what's happening is that the car wont start for a few minutes , and then it starts. this was the code I got p0335
O wow I'm sorry to hear that... The sensor is about 50 bucks if you plan to do it yourself.. I would check all the wires that go to the sensor.. If I remember correctly the timing cover acts like part of the wiring...
