flywheel PROBLEMS
Ok so I have a 2004 lancer ralliart. Near 220,000 km's on it and still going strong ...
My OEM flywheel broke in half.
So I saw this on eBay and bought it : http://www.ebay.com/itm/EXEDY-Clutch...-/310094161012
Im the type of guy that always do research on what he buy to know if its alright ..
I saw a lot of problems about this flywheel on this forum but at the moment I told myself if it doesnt fit, im simply gonna use my old flywheel...
At first, I didnt knew it was my flywheel who was broken ! I tough it was only the clutch ! the car was still starting(doing a strange noise haha)/running but I had difficulties to enter gears (needed to start the car in gear in order to advance)... The clutch never slipped or show signs of fatigue.. I tought she snapped during abusive abuse or otherwise she couldnt be broke ! I checked all the hydraulics and all fines... Bleeded the clutch..
Putted some dot5 that came with the car to fill up the reservoir (error of mine lol)... anyway after 1 month not driving , I finnaly received the clutch kit and the fidanza flywheel !! It took 1 month to get it, LOTS OF PROBLEMS WITH UPS
Time to get the car at my mechanic garage :
So I boost my car, start up with reverse in, give it some gaz to get out the driveway but all what the car do is spinning from the front tires the back wheels wouldnt move... WTH !!!!!
We cant get the rear wheels to move ... I go see a guy that live near my house he have an evo..
he tell me that it could be my E-BRAKE pads inside the hub that are rusted and all the kit... So I call a towing, after getting on the towing, the wheels would still not move. Arrived at the garage it takes all to get the car on the floor + we scratch the brand new garage floor ,. lucky my car dont have the biggest drop.. Finnaly the car is lifted and yes it was my ebrake pads the problem, after forcing on them with a pry bar all is ''ok''...
OK SO FROM NOW.. we simply try to put the OEM exedy clutch over the flywheel and thats scraping on the bolts... After removing the tranny my mechanic try to put it and still wouldnt fit... DAMN. If only I knew my flywheel was the prob.
I odered the clutchmaster flywheel + longer bolts on belmetric 12 X 1.25 X 25 MM Hex head class 10.9
https://www.belmetric.com/bh12x125x2...th=506_510_411
So my question is HOW THE HECK you guys do make it fit ?
Sorry for the long story but after almost 2 months not driving my Mivec but my dad 6speed chevy cruze life sucks. lol
Sorry my bad english
My car attached here minus my front crest , hehe

hey, welcome to the forum....
I know you've been sending me PM's on the Fastworks forum, but the private message format is weird, and I missed some of the messages...
ok, so first of all, be sure you're not installing the clutch disc backwards...second, you need these https://www.rtmracing.com/xcart/prod...at=1878&page=1 because on a standard grade 10.9 bolt, the head is too big, and will interfere with the clutch disc...

Hi back Cranswick,
Im here since a while but I never post, hehe. Im on the Québec forum and its sometimes easier to understand
For the clutch installation, don't worry , its for sure fine.
So the bolts I did order won't fit at all ? I really need those you show me up ?
Is there more clearance with the Clutchmaster flywheel ? wich one should I use ?
Lots of question, but I dont wanna end up ordering bolts I wont use and wait for them again

the bolts I posted are OEM Mitsubishi flywheel bolts from another vehicle, the important thing is that the head of the bolt is lower profile than a standard bolt, and there's a reason for it...the "hub" or center of the flywheel should be the same between all aftermarket aluminum flywheels, and the step height of the friction surface should be enough clearance for the clutch disc hub, but sot so much as to require major adjustments to the clutch control system...
if you really want to know, you can phone clutchmasters, fidanza, and aasco and request actual measurements for the mounting plate and step height of the flywheels...I think RalliartN on this forum has a clutchmasters flywheel laying around...the one you have is a fidanza, correct? we could possibly compare those two.

For now I have the Fidanza. Tomorrow im suppose to get the CM flywheel delivered. I tough that fidanza simply don't fit.. so.. Im gonna have to send back one of the 2 or sell it.... !!! Might the problem be the OEM exedy clutch ? I dont think so.. the bolts from belmetric will be home soon too. Thanks for you help guys

I don't know the right words in english but its because the hub of the clutchmaster is tinier and is .. I really don't know how to tell so here the pics. lol.
First pic its the fidanza wich you see is flat ! and then the clutch master is different.. the word I can't get !
Pics 2-4 is CM and 1-3 Fidanza...
Was so happy when my mech dropped the clutch over the bolts and BANG it fit
(I had left my clutch alone at the garage so I couldnt try it sooner..)
