Car Jerks taking off in 1st Gear

I got a brand new Act-Clutch kit so I know it's nothing with the tranny . I'm thinking maybe motor mounts ? Engine moves a lot ? Anyone ever had this problem ?

inspect motor mounts...with stock motor mounts the engine moves a lot anyway...now you have a clutch with more clamping force, thus less slip, engine roll during engagement may be exaggerated...you may just need to learn the clutch...how many miles on the new clutch? break-in takes time.

well, then why would mention that the clutch is brand new, implying it was a new problem that started with the new clutch? that being said, how can you confidently rule out the tranny, based on the fact that the clutch is new, if the problem existed with the old clutch? in any case, I doubt it's the tranny.

either one or more of your motor mounts are completely gone, or you can't drive. or both...if rev a bit higher as you engage the clutch does it still jerk?

assuming you're referring to a 4th gen eclipse, then probably, though they have different part numbers...what's wrong with the tranny? do you have it apart? they are quite simple to rebuild.

2006 and later...don't know about the sebring...

what do you mean the synchros are whiny? if the tranny is whining, it's normally the gears, or the bearings, or it may have been starved of oil...how many miles on that tranny?

auto wrecker...condition is hit or miss...you never know what you got until you open it up.

I searched Ohio and found nothing, Michigan has one with no 4th gear for $150 as a core...there's one Pennsylvania for $300 with a broken case. Seems there are not too many around these days...
